What the **** just happened?

Hi everyone - Jimbo here with a quick bleary-eyed update on what's been going on in Hamfatland since the show aired.

We watched the program last night in a club in Soho with family, friends and everyone who's been involved. It was a brilliant night - great atmosphere, nice bar tab and the show itself was less embarrassing than I'd feared it might be. After we'd been on, all of our phones went mental with calls and texts from mates, journos and people who once met us three years ago and have suddenly decided they're our best mates.

We all crashed in some student halls of residence (£75k may sound like a lot of cash, but once you've recorded, mixed, mastered, promoted, distributed etc etc it doesn't leave much for swanky accommodation) and eventually got to bed around 1.30am.

So when our tour manager woke us at 4.30am to go to the GMTV studio I wasn't feeling too clever. Anyway, after hanging about in the green room for a while (this seems to happen a lot) Eoin and Jamie did an interview and then we performed The Girl I Love for the first time - hope everyone liked it.

Apparently Chris Moyles gave Peter Jones (and the band name) a bit of a classic slagging on his show this morning! He played The Girl I Love, and the song's also had some airtime on BBC2, BBC6 and Virgin Radio I think, so that's all good.Jamie's just told me that the Director of play.com has said that it's one of the fastest selling indie singles they've had so fingers crossed for our first top forty chart position.

Anyway I think I may be rambling now (lack of sleep is really kicking in!) but we're off out for a drink or two in Camden later so I think it'll have to be Vodka Red Bulls to keep me conscious. Got to get back to Cambridge tonight though because we're on BBC Radio Cambridgeshire tomorrow morning, and I don't fancy another 4.30am start.

Hope you're all enjoying the music - and if you haven't downloaded the Girl I Love yet get yo sweet ass on it NOW!!!

Much love, Jimbo

Mark - The Cavern, The Beatles trip.

Today we played at the Caven Pub and Cavern Club in Liverpool. For those of you who may not know this is where The Beatles strutted their stuff and learnt their trade in the 60's! Anyone who knows me will tell you that this is a big deal for me! Both gigs went really well and were well recieved, we even got to play an encore in the Cavern Club which was special! Eoin and I also had family along to see it which was nice, as it made the whole trip more of an event.

JImbo - Water Rats, Liam Finn, Jools Holland

3 May 2008 - Had a great crowd for the Water Rats gig with Liam Finn (son of the guy from Crowded House) the other night. He was meant to be playing two UK dates, but cancelled one so he could play on Jools Holland. This was good news for us as it meant that the punters who’d bought tickets for the cancelled gig came along to the Water Rats instead so the place was rammed. Not so good for Liam, who apparently didn’t get to play on the programme after all because they ran out of time – ooops.

Jimbo - Dragons Den: Stepladders that also brush your teeth

5 March 2008 - Jamie has suggested that we apply to go on that programme Dragon’s Den to get funding for the next album. Great programme if you’ve invented a new kind of stepladder or something but I can’t see them throwing money at a bunch of indie-quirksters like us. Still, he’s more persuasive than I am so I think we’re going to give it a shot. Sounds like a terrible idea to me but we shall see!
